An Ongoing Story

While “Am I An American or Am I Not?” explores several connections between the WWII Incarceration of Japanese Americans and modern-day injustices, there are many more stories that have not been told within this exhibition.

We encourage you to think about your own community and your own experiences. Each of us has the ability to make change and to help ensure the rights of those around us.

  • When has someone you know been treated unfairly because they were seen as different?
  • When else has our country failed to live up to its highest ideals? Have we made changes so that it couldn’t happen again?
  • When have you or others you know stood together to uplift the rights of all?

If you have the feeling that something is wrong, don’t be afraid to speak up.
