AIAA Classroom Activity 4: Exploring Universal Themes
- Title
- AIAA Classroom Activity 4: Exploring Universal Themes
- Description
- This activity allows students to gather and discuss their first thoughts about powerful universal themes in history, civics, and human relationships explored in the “AM I AN AMERICAN OR AM I NOT?” exhibition. These themes—which include American identity, citizenship, belonging and exclusion, loyalty, resistance, resilience, and solidarity—are as relevant in our lives today as they were in the 1940s. Students can return to the questions they explore in this activity during and after visiting the exhibition to expand or revise their initial thinking based on what they learned.
- Designed for students in grades 9-12 with adaptations for grades 4-8
